When You were crucified

 

Blessed day my Jesus
when You were crucified
All my sins were cast away
You will not be denied ~
Love was sent from Heaven
in the arms of Your embrace
You gave to me the promise of
Your awesome love and grace.

You walked the Way or Sorrows
with the Cross upon Your back
You shouldered all our sins and shame
while within Your face they spat ~
You cast Your heart to Heaven
tears within Your eyes
Your dying breath spoken for us
as You gave up Your life.

Your blood was shed for the pain
and sins of all mankind
Your body broken on a Cross
by a world gone blind ~
Your life was mocked and ridiculed
as You struggled for breath
But still Your love shone for us
even unto death.

Oh lily of the valley
the bright and morning star
Shining from the Heavens
You live within my heart ~
A day now for reflection
when You were crucified,
You died for me so I may know
Your everlasting Life.

Blessed Easter when we pause
to reflect upon the Cross
So thankful for the price You paid
so I would not be lost ~
Blessed day my Jesus
my Saviour and my friend
Your love for me is so immense
You would do it all again!
