A Day at the Beach

Sand is best remembered
With water at it’s side
Shells beside the water
Waves for kids to ride
A drink, a girl, a blanket
Can make the day complete
And rushing to the parking lot
Trying not to burn our feet
Take away the water
Add guns and men and war
And you find yourself wishing
For the other things sand is for
I think I’ll keep the memories
With waves and girls and fun
As I sit amidst the sand dunes
And watch the setting sun
