 Grandfather

It's only been a short time
Since that day
When God chose
To take you away

Already, we miss you
Your presence, here on Earth
Though we know you're in Heaven now
On God's holy turf.

With high hopes now
I pray for you
That you're at peace
And you're happy too

Until the day
God chooses us to reunite
I'll remember you in my heart
Though you're not in my sight

To those who may have felt
This loss more so than me
I hope the grief is not too long
And soon, again you'll be happy

For Granddad we know,
Has gone to a better place
We still have his memories and spirit
The memories of his smiling face.

Thanks for sharing the poem! I've also felt the same way for losing my grandfather to pneumonia. I wish to reunite with him and see his smile. I cried from just reading this poem. It was very nice :)
